We exclusively use DuraSurf™ sintered base plastic for our runner bases and side walls.  New for 2006 we will offer DuraJet™ bases.  This new base is a high grade high carbon base reducing drag without sacrificing durability.

From Crown Plastics:

“Crown supplies DuraSurf™ to the snowsports market with its sintered base materials. A major supplier to every North American snowboard manufacturer, Crown has quickly become the largest and highest quality producer of sintered base in the world

“DuraSurf™ has become renowned for its tremendous durability, along with the other well known advantages of sintered base, those being speed, wax absorption and retention, impact resistance and consistency in extreme temperatures. Our proprietary manufacturing process allows us to provide a flatter, clearer, less stressed material …”

Crown Plastics doesn’t just make performance claims, they back up claims with unparalleled engineering development and testing.  The Micro-Slice photographs shown are from Crown Plastics and are used to demonstrate the microscopic wax absorbing pore structure built into all DuraSurf™ bases.

When compared to less durable, heavier, temperature range specific, and higher drag QCR™ plastics, our reasonably priced DuraSurf™ shod runners are hard to beat.  For the price of a set of QCR™ plastics for multiple conditions, you can get a pair of more durable and higher performance tru-ski runners that are optimized for all conditions.  Just choose your wax and go.

And, should a runner base get damaged, any ski technician or person able to repair a ski can repair our runners with standard P-Tex™ repair products.  They can even be base ground just like a ski.
